To the tune of "The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring" from The Mikado by Gilbert & Sullivan

(Gray Cat)
The Flounders that bloom in the Spring, tra-la,
Bring promise of merry sunshine.
I’ll merrily dance and I’ll sing, tra-la
with no more thesis writing, tra-la,
and a Summer in which I won’t whine,
and a Summer in which I won’t whine

So that’s what I mean when I say or I sing,
I welcome the Flounders that bloom in the Spring
Tra-la-la-la-la-la, tra-la-la-la-la-la,
I welcome the Flounders of Spring!

(The Wizard)
The Flounders that bloom in the Spring, tra-la,
Have nothing to do with the case!
I’ve got to take under my wing, tra-la,
A most unattractive old thing, tra-la,
with its chapter 4 barely in place,
with its chapter 4 barely in place!

So that’s what I mean when I say or I sing,
“Oh, bother the Flounders that bloom in the Spring!”
Tra-la-la-la-la-la, Tra-la-la-la-la-la
Oh, bother the Flounders of Spring!
